Brussels — Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan held bilateral talks with EU Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger in Brussels on Oct. 2.
«Today there is a question of coordination of positions between Russia and Ukraine. The European Commission is trying to reach a compromise,» the Ukrainian minister told reporters in Brussels on Oct. 2 after the meeting, which lasted more than two hours.
Prodan said he did not think that the parties saw differently the compromise proposals agreed on Sept. 26 during a trilateral meeting involving Russian Energy Minister Oleksandr Novak in Berlin.
However, the Ukrainian minister said that new date of the trilateral meeting was scheduled.
As reported, the parties in Berlin on Sept. 26 previously agreed to solve the problem of gas supplies to Ukraine and the EU during the winter season.
