In January-June, 2013 Ukraine cut gas consumption by 7.8% or by 2.399 billion cubic meters as compared with the same period of 2012 – to 28.501 billion cubic meters, according to the data of the Ministry of energy and coal industry.
According to the report, in June this year gas consumption reduction constituted 8.7% (or by 186.9 million cubic meters) in comparison with last June – to 1.956 billion cubic meters.
Imports of gas to Ukraine in January-June, 2013 decreased by 35.3% (or by 5.620 billion cubic meters) as compared with six months of 2012 – to 10.295 billion cubic meters).
In June this year gas imports decreased by 70.4% (or by 2.184 billion cubic meters) as compared with last June – to 916.9 million cubic meters.
Transit of gas through Ukraine’s territory for the six months of 2013 declined by 11.3% (or by 5.2 billion cubic meters) as compared with the same period of the previous year – to 39 billion 352.2 million cubic meters.
A total of 7.188 billion cubic meters passed through Ukraine’s gas transportation system in June, 2013 that is 22.7% more (or 1.329 billion cubic meters) than in June, 2012.
As it was reported, in 2012 Ukraine cut gas consumption by 7.6% (or by 4.530 billion cubic meters) as compared with 2011 – to 54.774 billion cubic meters.
